The Ministry of Works and Transport executive director, Esther Kaapanda, expressed satisfaction with the progress of the ongoing renovations at Windhoek’s Katutura Intermediate Hospital. This comes after Kaapanda inspected the hospital following the ministry’s allocation of N$40 million for upgrades.

During the inspection, Kaapanda stated that despite delays at the beginning of the renovations caused by relocating patients to other wards, she is satisfied with the progress of the work thus far.

She indicated that N$10 million has been spent during this period and noted that this is part of the government’s effort to provide its citizens with dignified health services.

Maintenance work on the eastern wing of the 50-year-old hospital is expected to be complete by the end of June this year.
