In a momentous event, the City of Windhoek has unveiled a series of new street names and renamed existing ones, to honour 17 distinguished leaders who have made significant contributions to the liberation struggle and the development of the city.  Some streets, previously known by their colonial-era names, now bear the names of figures who have played pivotal roles in shaping the city’s identity and progress.
