The Walvis Bay community has been searching for the missing Unam student Matheus Sheehama since the weekend in the dunes.

Twenty-four-year-old Sheehama went missing after visiting his girlfriend’s house in the Tutaleni location, where there was a braai.

Lucky Lukas, who is leading the search team, said he is optimistic that he will find Sheehama.

“We have been searching the whole Walvis Bay. Even today, we had a meeting with the regional commander. At least he gave us a lot of confidence that we are going to get our guy. We want to thank the nation, the whole people who came on board, especially the ladies we were with together in the dunes…it shows that people care,” stated Sheehama.

A WhatsApp group named “Where is Walter?” has also been created.

Sheehama, an engineering student at the Windhoek Unam campus, was visiting his family at the coast before he went missing. Five men arrested in connection with the matter will re-appear before the Walvis Bay Magistrate’s Court on 22 August this year
