A study conducted by the Electricity Control Board has revealed that the annual economic cost at the national level resulting from unplanned electricity outages, ranges from N$126 million over the weekend to N$1 billion during the weekends.

The study which was conducted in august last year provides an economic value to the cost of unplanned electricity interruptions or the inability to meet electricity demand at a given time to electricity consumers and the economy as a whole.
