Namibian Police (Nampol) Gender-Based Violence (GBV) victim protection division Detective Chief Inspector Lydia Ndumba has advised families and the community at large to support each other in cases of domestic violence because solely relying on protection orders may not guarantee safety.

According to Ndumba, in some instances, complainants lose their lives while in possession of protection orders. Ndumba made the call during the prayer day against Gender-Based Violence (GBV) and domestic violence at Windhoek’s Reformed Pentecostal Church in Wanaheda on Sunday.
