The Landless Peoples Movement (LPM) will set up an Oil Revenue Fund if it forms the next government. Namibians go to the polls in November to elect the next president and National Assembly members.

LPM spokesperson Lifalaza Simataa says the Oil Revenue Fund will ensure that Namibians benefit directly from the sector’s earnings. 

Simataa said the success of the Oil Revenue Fund initiative will depend on the number of parliament seats the LPM gets.. He said the single economy system of trickle-down profits will not benefit ordinary citizens in the long run.
