Khomas regional governor, Laura McLeod-Katjirua, stated that the !Khomanin traditional authority requires urgent land acquisition intervention by the Ministry of Agriculture, Water and Land Reform(MAWLR) to reduce land demands.

McLeod-Katjirua said her office has been receiving pressure from communities as it is the region in the country with the largest population of close to 500 000 but without a communal area.
