The Ministry of Health and Social Services executive director, Ben Nangombe, called for medication, particularly antibiotics, to be prescribed and dispensed correctly.

According to Nangombe, last year’s Namibia pharmaceutical information system showed that 49% of prescriptions contained an antibiotic, which is alarmingly above the 25 percent of World Health Organisation  (WHO) required prescription.
