Residents of Windhoek, especially those staying in the Havana informal settlement, have welcomed the construction of the new Windhoek district hospital. Residents showed up in large numbers at Farm 108 joining government dignitaries to witness the groundbreaking ceremony of the N$16 billion health facility at the settlement today, which will have a 500-bed capacity, staff accommodation, as well as mental health, and frail care units. The construction is expected to be completed in 2027.
