Minister of Education, Arts and Culture Executive Director Sanet Steenkamp described the late Katrina Hanse-Himarwa as a vibrant and intelligent educator of note. Steenkamp, who worked with Hanse-Himarwa from 2015 to 2019, shared the achievements of the late minister, who passed away on Sunday in Windhoek after a long battle with cancer.  She was 57.

Steenkamp remembered their efforts in implementing the curriculum reform, which, despite criticism, created an understanding of the educational reform. “She was colourful, warm, and loved children to bits,” added Steenkamp.
