In an effort to combat plastic pollution and environmental degradation, the Minister of Environment, Forestry, and Tourism, Pohamba Shifeta inaugurated the country’s first Polyethylene Terephthalate (PET) Plastic Flake Plant at Okahandja on Thursday. 

The recycling plant transforms discarded beverage bottles made from Polyethylene Terephthalate (PET) material into PET flakes with an international market value.
