A 34-year-old livestock farmer, Hofni Sem, based outside Groot Aub in the Khomas region is advising farmers to take care of their employees well-being and living conditions, as they are largely responsible for the burden of the hard labour that goes into maintaining a farm.  Sem stated that there is widespread awareness of the exploitation of some farm workers by their employers, which in turn leads to livestock theft and vandalism by farm hands due to unfit living conditions and or underpayment.
