Edgars Online powers Spotlight by Bertha

OneAfrica.tv has enjoyed growing viewership thanks to its video-on-demand platform and a renewed focus on bringing quality local content to the world.

‘Spotlight by Bertha’, is the latest example of a successful local production, which focuses on home-grown movers and shakers. This podcast-style talk show has gained great traction amongst audiences and major brands, most notably Edgars.com.na, which has come on board as the title sponsor. 

Host, Bertha Tobias, elaborated on how the concept came about and how teaming up with one of Namibia’s top production companies helped this inspiring programme come to fruition.

“I was always surrounded by young people who were actively shaping the futures of their communities. I was inspired by those stories and I committed to shedding more light on brilliant young and daring people from the African continent,” she explained.

“Someone suggested I reach out to Marinda Stein from Red Hot Productions, and after our first conversations she understood the vision from the word go, completely grasping how deeply personal Spotlight is to me. Her constant meticulousness infused Spotlight with the vigor and professionalism it needed, so much so that we not only attracted major dreamers and doers to be part of the programme, but also garnered the attention of an amazing brand like Edgars, who saw value in the programme and partnered with us as the title sponsor.”

“I loved Bertha’s determined nature. Human interest stories are my passion and, given the demographic, it was an easy decision to become the producing partner,” Stein explained.
