A group of 20 people calling itself DTA have announced plans to vote for RDP leader Mike Kavekotora in the November elections.

The group is unhappy with the DTA’s disbandment to pave the way for PDM in 2017.

The group leader, Uakarenda Mbinge, said they will vote for Kavekotora because PDM’s leadership does not care about them or the DTA.

“As DTA members, we have consistently voted for PDM in previous elections. However, we have now realised that PDM does not need or care about us. Given this, we believe we should direct our votes elsewhere. We see other parties, like RDP, which is led by a fellow Herero man. Therefore, we have decided to support RDP so that they will hear our concerns and help us,” said Mbinge.

PDM president McHenry Venaani said Mbinge is a remnant of Katuutire Kaura supporters who have never accepted the rebranding. Venaani said he is aware of Mbine and him a sour loser who has a problem when he defeated Kaura.

“He has been trying to revive DTA in Kaoko. He has dismally failed. That’s why there are only 20, because nobody follows him.Everybody is laughing at him. I’m sure he only took some of his cousins and family members, and no one was significant. So to us, that is just a joke. He voted for Kaura when Kaura went to Swapo… DTA is dead  and buried remarked,”stated Venaani.

RDP president Mike Kavekotora said they will strengthen their relationship with the DTA group to address common issues. “We are not only going to have a relationship for this upcoming elections but build a stronger relationship with them so that we address issues on a common platform,” remarked Kavekotora.
