The City of Windhoek has decided to install CCTV cameras to arrest suspects stealing plants and trees around the city. The decision comes after newly planted trees and flowers worth N$70 000 were uprooted and stolen along Windhoek’s Independence Avenue. CoW Corporate Communications, Marketing and Public Participation Manager, Harold Akwenye, stated that the greenery was planted during this year’s Arbour Day celebration along Independence Avenue to beautify the city’s landscape.
