After introducing the bird-scaring lines 16 years ago, the Namibia Nature Foundation’s Albatross Task Force has managed to reduce seabird deaths from, 30000 to 2000 per year. As a result the task force has reduced seabird deaths by 98 percent.
The bird-scarring lines also known as ‘tori lines’ keep the birds from flying into trawl cables where they are tangled and die. AgriOnOne is proudly brought to you by the Agricultural Bank of Namibia.
