By: Ellen Shihepo The Ministry of Agriculture, Water and Land Reform (MAWLR) Minister, Calle Schlettwein, stated that the low rainfall is increasing the demand for water in agriculture, which currently consumes about 75 percent of the country’s water. Schlettwein explained that the demand for freshwater for food production will continue to grow due to population growth and socio-economic development.
