The 22-year-old man, Tjizake Hoveka Murangi, who is accused of murdering his 29-year-old girlfriend, Frieda Amadhila, earlier this month, was denied bail by the Windhoek’s magistrate court today.

Murangi’s case was postponed to 9th August this year for further police investigation. Magistrate Monica Andjamba said that Murangi, who was detained at the Windhoek Police station cells, will be transferred to the Windhoek Correctional Facility after safety concerns were raised by his lawyer, Milton Engelbrecht. Public prosecutor, Rowen van Wyk represented the State.

According to the information provided by the police, Murangi stabbed Amadhila, who was employed at Nedbank, with a knife during a fight on 8 April. She succumbed to her injuries. The incident happened at a flat near  Maerua Mall.
